In this study, a technique of the inner temperature measurement for the boilers, which is operated under very high temperature and has locally inner temperature gradient, was introduced. Finite element (FE) analysis was conducted under elastic-secondary creep conditions to develop a temperature measurement sensor using creep deformation. The sensor was considered for temperature range of 500oC-800oC. Shape of the sensor was modeled as a small plate with a circular hole in the center. From the FE analysis results, valid materials that can measure the temperatures for each temperature range were determined and then by using amount of creep deformation measured from the sensor specimens, it was shown that the temperature measurement sensor developed in this study could be applied to measuring the inner temperature of the boilers. In the near future, experimental application for the sensor should be carried out.
